Automated Presort Services first opened their Tucson based Operations Center in 1990.When we first started our mail focus was Presort Mail. We were the first company to install a full automated Optical Character Reader in the Tucson Market. After processing our customer's daily mail we started getting requests to provide other services in the mail arena. Based on those customers' requests we now have a full service Lettershop which does all types of mail preparation. We also more recently had requests to provide meter services for customer who did not want to maintain meter equipment in-house.

What Is Presort Mail?

The United States Postal Service (USPS) offers a work share program to mailers who barcode, sort, and tray their mail to the zip code level. Automated Presort Services performs this function through commingling your mail with that of our other clients to obtain the maximum level of discount available through this program. This caliber of program provides many companies and corporations thousands of dollars in saving annually. This is done through:

	OCR Reading & Barcoding -Automated Presort Services can read most machine fonts, as well as most handwritten pieces to ensure that your mail will qualify for both postal discounts, as well as expedited delivery. Each mail piece is bar-coded and sorted into the destination Zipcode.
	Combine/Commingling - Automated Presort Services combines (commingles) your mail with mail from our other clients, thereby increasing volumes going to individual zip codes and increasing postal savings.
	Move Update - As your mail is processed our on-line Move Udate System checks each and every mail piece to ensure that the addresss done not have a new address on file. If that address has a new address on file the corrected address will be sprayed on the envelope along with the corrected bar-code.
	Endorsement/Redating - Forget to spray "Presort First Class" on the mail piece? Forget to change your meter date? No problem. Automated Presort Services has invested in the technology that can correct these issues, in-line, during the sorting process.

Our Services

Automated Presort Services is using the latest in OCR technology to ensure that you mail is going to the USPS with an 11 Digit Barcode - THE SAME DAY 100%. Additionally, through the use of Parascript® OCR technology, Automated Presort Services is able to barcode the majority of handwritten mail that is presented. What this means for you is faster delivery of this mail to its intended recipient.

Automated Presort Services has also invested in multiple vehicles which means that, in most locations, your mail is being picked up by a Automated Presort Services employee - not a third party. This ensures that your mail is going directly from your location to ours, without having to stop at multiple "non-presort" accounts. Processing your mail in a timely manner is our first concern.
